Terms of Service

These terms are a binding agreement between you and Capito (“Capito”, “we”, “us”), an app operated by an independent developer based in India. By creating an account or using Capito, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

Capito records audio, transcribes it, and generates study notes and flashcards from the transcript. Once a recording is transcribed, the original audio is automatically and permanently deleted, we keep the transcript and the notes, not the audio.

Capito uses automated speech recognition and AI language models. AI-generated transcripts and notes can be inaccurate or incomplete. Do not rely on them as your only source, review anything important, especially before an exam, deadline, or decision.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent where you live, to use Capito. If you are under the age of majority, you may use Capito only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

Your responsibilities

• Recording consent. Laws on recording conversations vary by place. You are solely responsible for obtaining any consent required from the people you record, lecturers, meeting participants, or interviewees, and for using Capito lawfully where you are.
• Your content. You keep ownership of everything you record and write. You grant us only the limited rights needed to store and process your content, and to send it to the providers named in our Privacy Policy, so we can provide the service to you.
• Acceptable use. Do not use Capito to break the law, to infringe others’ rights, to record people without a legally required consent, or to attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service.

Credits and payments

• Transcription is paid for with credits, measured in minutes of recorded audio. Generating notes and flashcards from a transcript is included at no extra credit cost. New accounts receive a one-time free credit allowance.
• You can buy additional credits as one-time purchases. Prices are shown in Indian Rupees (INR) and payments are processed by Razorpay. Applicable taxes may be added.
• Purchased credits are added to your balance and do not expire while your account is active. Credits have no cash value, are tied to your account, and cannot be transferred.
• Because credits deliver a digital service that is consumed on use, purchases are generally non-refundable except where a refund is required by law or where we have charged you in error. If you were charged incorrectly or a transcription failed and credits were wrongly deducted, contact us and we will make it right.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Capito reliable but provide it “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of uninterrupted availability or of error-free transcripts. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may update these terms; material changes will be posted on this page and we will ask you to accept them the next time you use Capito.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Capito will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on AI-generated content or from data loss. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and if you are a consumer you keep any mandatory rights your local law gives you.

Termination

You can stop using Capito and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or the law. On account deletion, your recordings, transcripts, and notes are permanently removed as described in the Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.
